“HOOPS FOR HOPE”
On Saturday, February 26th, 2011, the National Street Basketball Association (NSBA) will launch its First Annual, fundraising initiative, “Hoops for Hope” to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital under its latest city member league team, “Miami-Blu.” This unique two (2) part basketball event series will tip-off with an Instructional Basketball Clinic hosted by WNBA Miami Star Athlete, Ms. Tracy Reid and close with NSBA’s first Inter-league Exhibition Game featuring “Miami-Blu” versus the “Motor City Falcons” from Detroit, Michigan (see below for more information). The clinic is open to young male and female athletes (ages 13-19) and will provide them with the basic fundamentals of basketball, refine those skills already learned, offer Life-Skill workshops on Drug Prevention, Peer Pressure, and Conflict & Resolution and allow for drills and play situations. In addition, this unique program event will help educate and rally the support of these youth participants in assisting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with further research and remedies on Pediatric Cancers affecting of youth, such as Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Cancer of the Blood) which is the most common form of childhood Cancer.
This spectacular basketball event series plans to feature guest speakers from the medical field, professional athletes from the NSBA, district and community leaders in support of raising awareness of Pediatric Cancer and promoting basketball as a positive alternative to violence and a way to stay physically fit for life. In addition, the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will help educate youth athletes on the various Pediatric Cancers affecting our youth communities.
All participants receive a uniform T-shirt and at the conclusion of the clinic, a Basketball Award Certificate. Lunch and Beverages will be provided for all program participants.
YOUTH CLINIC REGISTRATION:
Due to the overwhelming interest of this program event, we advise you to enroll your child/children online to secure a place in the clinic. Below is a Pre-registration Form for you to complete and submit to secure your child's spot. Clinic registration along with payment will be accepted in person on the event day. No personal checks please, money orders only made payable to:

PROCEEDS:
There will be a nominal fee of $25.00 dollars assessed to every youth participant to cover clinic program expenses. Moreover, every participant that registers, 50% of the fee will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for further research and remedies on Pediatric Cancers.

NSBA’S INTER-LEAGUE GAME:
On Saturday, February 26th, 2011 following WNBA Star Athlete, Tracy Reid’s Youth Instructional Basketball Skills Clinic, two (2) of NSBA’s national member city league teams will compete in an Exhibition to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. There, Miami, Florida’s team, “Miami-Blu” will spark the first rival of NSBA professional league teams against the “Motor City Falcons” from Detroit, Michigan. In addition, the game plans to feature a special musical performance by BMR/Universal Recording Artist “FILTHEE” with the Smash Hit Single, “I Know What You Like” featuring R&B singer, Major James (Visit www.FiltheeTV.com), special celebrity guest appearances along with basketball contests and sponsor giveaways for spectators during Halftime and throughout the game. Also, children from Joe DiMaggio’s Children Hospital and Miami’s Children Hospital will be the event’s special guests. The NSBA and collaborating outreach organizations and agencies anticipate a huge outcome of supporters and further encourage all of Florida’s region resident communities to attend and help put an end to Pediatric Cancer.
GAME ADMISSION:
For all those interested in attending and supporting this fundraiser initiative benefiting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, there will be a $20.00 dollar fee for adults and $10.00 dollars for children to attend. Food, snacks, beverages and NSBA Brand Apparel will be available on-site for sale.
